Status and Error Messages

About 11 min read

This page collects the meaning and the solution of the states and error messages on the Energy Performance screens. For the row fields and total labels, see Row fields and Total labels.

Calculation not completed

The calculation panel shows the reason and an action under the heading Calculation Not Completed. Some messages have a Support code that can be copied; contact your system administrator or the support team with this code.

MessageCauseWhat to do
The calculation stopped halfway because the service restarted. The 2WinScada service restarted while the calculation was running.Recalculate
The calculation was stopped by a configuration restore. The configuration was restored while the calculation was running.Review Links if link approval is needed, otherwise Recalculate
SCADA stayed busy for a long time. The calculation was stopped to protect data collection. Recalculate later.SCADA was busy for longer than 15 minutes; the calculation stopped to protect live data collection.Recalculate later
The amount of data of meter “{meter}” on {day} exceeds the calculation limit. Pass the support code to your system administrator. The number of log records the meter wrote on a single day exceeds the limit of the calculation (for example a very short log interval).Pass the support code to your system administrator. Check the interval of the log definition.
Reading the data took too long.Reading the archive exceeded the time limit.Recalculate
The historical data could not be read. The archive database could not be reached or the read failed.Recalculate; if it persists, contact support with the support code.
You do not have access to all meters of this scope. Choose a sub-scope you can access, or ask your administrator for data access.During the calculation you lost data rights on some tags in the scope.Choose Sub-Scope, or ask for data rights.
One or more tag links are invalid.During the calculation the settings of a tag changed or the tag was deleted.Show in Definitions
An unexpected error occurred.Another error.Recalculate; if it persists, contact support with the support code.

Other calculation messages:

MessageMeaning
Too many energy calculations are queued right now. Try again in a few minutes. The calculation queue is full; the calculation was not started.
Link approval after the configuration restore is required. After a restore, no calculation starts until the links are approved; see Approval after a restore.
At most 12 months can be calculated together; future months cannot be calculated. The range selected in the Trend is too long or contains future months.
All selected months are closed, so there is no month to calculate as a draft. Request a new revision for a closed month. There is no open month to calculate; see New revision.
A new revision can be calculated only for closed months. The selected range contains a month that is not closed. The new revision calculation contains an open month.
The calculation status could not be read. The calculation may still be running in the background.A connection problem; Read Status Again.
This calculation can no longer be found. The calculation record was deleted because its retention period expired, or it never existed.
You are not allowed to see the status of this calculation. You no longer have the right to follow the calculation.

Closing results

When the closing could not be written, the closing dialog does not close; it shows a title, an explanation and an action.

TitleCauseAction
Information Changed After the CalculationInformation that affects the month changed after the result was calculated (a definition, tag setting, correction or production value). The report to be closed must be calculated with up-to-date information.Recalculate; review the new result and close again. The new result is not closed automatically.
Result Calculated Before the Month EndedThe result was read before the month ended and does not cover the whole month.Recalculate
The Month Has Not EndedThe current month cannot be closed. When the month has ended, recalculate and close.
This Month Was Closed by Someone ElseWhile you were reviewing, the month was closed by another user (for example While you were reviewing, {month} was closed as Rev. {revision} ({user}, {at}).).Open Rev. {revision} or Review My Result as a New Revision (your result becomes the Rev. {next} candidate; a reason is asked).
Link Approval RequiredBecause the configuration was restored, the tag links must be approved before a new closing.Review Links
Restore in ProgressA configuration restore is running. Try again when it has finished. Your result has not been lost.OK, then try again.
You Cannot Close This MonthClosing requires the Energy Closing role and data rights on all meters of the scope.Contact an authorized user.
This Month Cannot Be ClosedThis month cannot be closed because its total could not be calculated. No included meter has a value.Fix what is missing and recalculate.
The Result No Longer ExistsThe result you were reviewing no longer exists (for example its retention period expired).Recalculate
The Month Could Not Be ClosedAn unexpected error occurred.OK, then try again.

From Rev. 2 on, if the reason is left empty, the dialog does not close and Enter a reason for Rev. {revision}. appears below the reason field.

Tag link states

StateMeaningWhat to do
ValidThe link is used in new calculations.—
Tag settings changedThe tag name, log type, unit or factor has changed since it was linked. New calculations cannot use this meter.Relink with New Settings…
Tag not foundThe linked tag or log definition no longer exists.Change Tag…
Awaiting approvalBecause the configuration was restored, the link must be approved before new calculations.Approval after a restore

Value and comparison reasons

In the row details, on the summary cards and in the Trend tooltips, a short reason tells why a value is missing or why no comparison was made:

ReasonDescription
no tag linkThe meter is not linked to a tag.
no history declarationThe month is before the link; no history declaration was given.
no usable reading in the monthThere is no log record in the month that can be calculated.
part of the month could not be calculatedThe value does not cover the whole month.
no kWh factor, could not be converted to kWhNo kWh factor is defined for this month.
the energy total is not completeThe total label is not Complete total.
the month has not ended yet; a running month is not comparableThe current month is not compared.
production not entered / production is zero; energy intensity cannot be calculated / production data is not completeThe denominator of the energy intensity cannot be used.
no usable closed month in the baseline periodNot all months of the baseline are closed, or one month is not a Complete total.
the same month last year was not closed / the total of the same month last year is not completeFor a comparison with last year, the same month of the previous year must be closed and complete.
the target's indicator differs from the indicator of its linked baselineThe target and the baseline are bound to different indicators.
the scope has more than one production variable; it is unclear which production the target refers toSpecify which production the target is measured against.

Save errors

MessageWhat to do
Not saved: someone else changed the record, the name already exists here, or another operation is running. …Your input is kept. Reload the page and try again.
This tag cannot be linked to this meter: it is not logged, not a consumption log, or its aggregation or unit does not fit the meter.Choose a tag with a consumption log whose unit and aggregation are the same as the meter's.
The linked tag does not fit this aggregation or unit. Link the tag again first. The meter's unit or aggregation does not match the linked tag; link the tag again first.
This link already has an active history declaration; revoke it first.Revoke the existing declaration with Revoke….
A kWh factor must start and end on the first day of a month. / The kWh factor period overlaps an existing factor.Enter the factor period on month boundaries so that it does not overlap existing periods.
Water is reported separately in m³; it cannot be included in the total and takes no kWh factor.A water meter is always Non-energy — shown separately.
The energy definition limit is reached: at most 1,000 scope groups, 5,000 meters and 1,000 variables can be defined. The limit is per installation; review the existing definitions before adding a new one.
Not saved: the other correction type is now active for this meter and month …Another user entered a correction; the panel was refreshed. Revoke that entry first.
This meter has no measured value; enter a manual period total instead of a delta correction. The panel was refreshed.Enter a manual period total.
A configuration restore is in progress. Try again when it has finished.Try again when the restore has finished.

Access messages

Access messages give no meter name, tag name or number.

MessageMeaning
You do not have access to some meters of this scope. The official report is shown only to users who can access the whole scope. …You do not have data rights on all tags of the scope. Choose a sub-scope you can access. If a tag link changed or was deleted, contact a user with the Editor role.
Your rights to all energy sources of this scope could not be confirmed for this action. …Your role does not cover the action, the scope contains tags you have no rights on, or a tag link changed or was deleted (for example after a restore).
You are not allowed to start calculations (Energy Management role).Calculation and corrections need the Energy Management role. With the Energy Reader role the screen opens read-only; with the Energy Data Entry role production is entered only in a month that is not closed.
Closing requires the Energy Closing role.Closing a month needs the Energy Closing role.
You are not allowed to view this report. Reading it with current data rights needs the Energy Reader role and access to all data of the scope; …You cannot access a row of the closed report in either way: you have no energy role or your data rights do not cover the row's tag, and your role was not given archive access for the scope; see Who can open it.
This month is closed; only the Energy Management role can change its value. The saved value is kept.Manual entry table: with the Energy Data Entry role, values cannot be entered for a closed month; see Monthly manual value entry.
You cannot enter values for this scope: your data rights do not cover every meter tag of the scope, or the scope has no linked meter. The saved value is kept.Manual entry table: entering values with the Energy Data Entry role needs data rights on all linked tags of the scope and at least one linked meter in the scope.
You cannot approve the links of this scope. …Approval needs the Energy Management role and data group rights; links whose tag was deleted or changed are approved only by a user with the Editor role.
Granting archive access needs the Energy Closing role.Archive access is granted by a user with the Energy Closing role.
The Energy Performance add-on is not enabled on this installation.Archive mode; see Archive mode.
