Touch panels

When the Value input is locked, tapping it shows the Lock Reason text; see Lock reason.

Settings

These settings are in the properties panel on the right while the widget is selected, mostly in the Value Input Settings section. The default value is the value the widget has when it is first added to a page.

Value

SettingTypeDefaultDescription
Process Value
processValue
Value (typed)99.9Main value of the widget, usually bound to a Tag or an expression in Bindings.
Unit
unit
Text—Unit shown after the number in the box, e.g. bar.
Fraction Digits
fractionDigits
Number1Number of decimals that are always shown (0–7).
Unit from Tag
unitFromTag
CheckboxOffShows the unit from the tag definition of the Process Value binding (Direct) after the number instead of Unit. On a shared modal it follows the modal's tag prefix. Unit is used when the tag has no unit and in the Editor. Only a plain tag name or a single quoted tag qualifies; a calculated expression such as 'Flow' / 1000 keeps Unit.
Step
step
Number1Amount added or subtracted by the increase/decrease buttons and the up/down arrow keys. Default 1.

Limits

SettingTypeDefaultDescription
Min Limit
limitMin
Number—Lowest value that can be written. Lower entries are rejected with a warning; empty means no lower limit.
Max Limit
limitMax
Number—Highest value that can be written. Higher entries are rejected with a warning; empty means no upper limit.

Behavior

SettingTypeDefaultDescription
Read Only
readOnly
CheckboxOffWhen on, the user cannot change the value at runtime.
Lock Reason
lockReason
Text—Optional. While the control is locked at runtime (Read Only bound to a tag that is true, or a user without write permission), a tap shows this text briefly instead of the permission message, and it appears as the tooltip. Example: "Interlock: door open". A locale key is translated. Empty keeps the default behaviour.
Needs Confirmation
needsConfirmation
CheckboxOffAsks for confirmation before the value is written to the Tag.

Appearance

SettingTypeDefaultDescription
Input Class
inputClass
CSS classes—CSS classes added to the input field.
Show Buttons
showButtons
CheckboxOffShows buttons that increase and decrease the value by Step; each click writes the new value.
Button Layout
buttonLayout
SelectionhorizontalLayout of the buttons: Stacked shows small up/down arrows on the right, Horizontal puts minus on the left and plus on the right, Vertical arranges them vertically.
Options: stacked Stacked, horizontal Horizontal, vertical Vertical

Other settings

SettingTypeDefaultDescription
Enable Flashing
enableFlashing
CheckboxOffMakes the widget blink (an opacity pulse every second). Usually bound to an alarm condition.
Log Button
logButton
CheckboxOffAt runtime shows a chart icon when hovering the widget; clicking it adds the Tags bound to the widget to the log Tag list.

Bindings

In the Bindings (Rules) section of the properties panel, a Tag can be bound to the following properties of this widget with a Direct binding. The binding types (Direct, IntRange, FloatRange, Boolean, Bit) are the same for all widgets; they are described on the Widget Reference page.

title, visible, authorization, x, y, width, height, rotation, class, foregroundColor, backgroundColor, borderColor, borderStyle, borderWidth, borderRadius, borderTopLeftRadius, borderTopRightRadius, enableFlashing, logButton, lockReason, processValue, fractionDigits, needsConfirmation, readOnly, unit, unitFromTag, limitMin, limitMax, step, inputClass, showButtons, buttonLayout

The style fields of the widget can also be bound as style.<field> (e.g. style.width, style.height, style.left, style.top).

Common sections

While this widget is selected, the properties panel also shows these common sections: General, Layout, Appearance, Bindings (Rules). These sections are described on the Page Editor page.
